A descriptive study to assess the level of depression among infertile couples undergoing assisted reproductive treatment at selected infertility clinic of Delhi

The stress of the non-fulfillment a wish for child has been associated with emotional consequence such as anger, depression, anxiety, marital problems, sexual dysfunction, and social isolation. lifetime risk depression in males is 8-12% females it 20-26%. Methodology: A cross sectional survey approach was adopted study. study conducted among 300 couples (150 male 150 female) diagnosed infertility undergoing treatment at ART center quaternary care hospital south west Delhi. Data collection done by interview method using standard questionnaire Beck Inventory. Results: It observed that out samples, most samples 45.7% belong to age group 35-44 years. 76% subjects had history primary about 78% did not any children nearly 48.7% couple 4 6 years duration infertility. Majority 153 (51%) extreme levels around 141 (47%) infertile severe only (2%) mild moderate level depression.
